Jobs

Pod Academy is a start up, and all our jobs at the moment are for volunteers.  So you won’t get paid (not yet, anyway) but being a start up means you have a chance to roll up your sleeves and make a real contribution to the shape and direction of the charity.

1.  Commissioning editor/senior producer:  We are looking for someone with extensive radio experience to commission podcasts, support our freelance producers, and generally contribute to improving the quality of our output.

Time commitment: 2 days per week.  Location:  Pod Academy office, Blackfriars, London.

2.  Radio producers – you’ll be making programmes – interviewing, recording, editing. You may have done some radio production training and want some work experience.   You might want to be part of the core team at Blackfriars, or work virtually.

3.  Administrator:  we need someone to develop our office systems (databases, accounts etc), support the team, fundraise. You are likely to have a degree. This is ideal experience if you want to work in the voluntary sector.

4.  Social media coordinator: you’ll be helping us grow our Twitter and Facebook presence and expand our online community. You should enjoy using social media and be enthusiastic about creating a community around Pod Academy.

Time commitment: 2 days per week.  Location:  Pod Academy office, Blackfriars, London, or work virtually.

5.  Networking coordinator:  We are keen to build our networks amongst academics (as a source of programmes) and students (as one potential audience).  We are advertising for networkers and need someone to coordinate their efforts.  You are likely to be someone with good marketing skills as well as an interest in academia.

Time commitment: 2 days per week.  Location:  Pod Academy office, Blackfriars, London.

6.  Fundraiser:  Our board has set up a fundraising working group, and we need someone to hep write identify potential funding opportunities, write proposals and pitch to trusts, foundations, corporates and other possible funders.  We are looking for someone with a fundraising track record who would like the challenge of getting a start up charity on its way.

Time commitment: 1 day per week.  Location:  Pod Academy office, Blackfriars, London, or home based.

Networkers

7. Academic Editors/Networkers:  We need a number of academic editors in different disciplines to help us build our contacts in universities, identify the exciting new ideas in the field and help us get to know the movers and shakers and the online and offline organisations that matter.  You may be a lecturer, a post doc or a PhD student, who enjoys networking and wants to build their own as well as Pod Academy’s contacts.

Time commitment: 2 days per month.  Location:  Anywhere

5.  Student representatives in universities:  We want to build our audience amongst students, so we are looking for people to promote Pod Academy in their university.  You will put up posters, make good links with your student radio station, organise events.

Time commitment 2 days per month.  Location: University based.
